Due to the low crystallisation degree, PC demonstrates a high transparency. This plastic is characterised by high strength, rigidity, and hardness, and is also very resistant to impact. In contrast to its chemical resistance, the material is very resistant to external influences such as weather conditions and UV radiation.
This material, reinforced with glass fibres, demonstrates increased strength, rigidity, creep strength, and dimension stability compared to the non-reinforced material. Its properties make PEI well-suited for parts with high continuous static loads at higher temperatures. Since glass fibres tend to cause a significant abrasion of the mating surface, PC GF30 is less suitable for sliding applications.
